The Planning Department's mission is to work in partnership with residents, Town departments and the private sector to build, sustain and manage a high quality of life in Manchester.

The department provides policy analysis, administrative support, project management, and technical expertise to public and private groups and individuals.

Individual members of the Department staff are often out of the office attending meetings, working remotely or conducting field visits.  To ensure the person you wish to speak with is available, it is helpful to call ahead before visiting our office.  Virtual meetings can also be scheduled if desired.

If you wish to drop off materials for the Planning Department without entering the building, a secure drop box is available outside Lincoln Center at 494 Main Street, on the Center Street side of the building. Please clearly label materials “Planning Department” and contact us at 860-647-3044 after dropping something off, so we can retrieve it promptly.
