Bidwell street will be closed from Hartford Road to Ramey drive starting 9/22/2026, for 30 days to allow for sewer main installation. Detour signs have been installed to help residents navigate around closure area.Salters Pool Parking Lot will be closed starting 9/21/2026, for 6-8 weeks to allow reconstruction of the parking lot. Pond access will be maintained during construction.
In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. The Town of Manchester Department of Public Works, Engineering Division proposes work under this contract that includes the replacement of approximately 4,600 linear feet of water main, 3,800 linear feet of sanitary sewer main, and reconstruction of 4,800 linear feet of roadway in the Ridgewood Street-area and the Griswold Street-area neighborhoods, in the Town of Manchester. It includes other appurtenant work such as installation of water services, fire hydrants, private sanitary sewer laterals, abandonment of existing sanitary and water utilities, minor storm drainage improvements, installation of extruded concrete curb, minor sidewalk restoration, surface restoration and traffic control.
The Town owned streets within the project work area include: Lilac Street, Trumbull Street, Griswold Street, Roosevelt Street, Lincoln Street, Ridgewood Street, Alexander Street, and a portion of St John Street.
This project is funded in part through the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health - Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Program.
