The Water Department will be flushing water mains in areas of the distribution system. The cleaning program will begin at 7:15 a.m. each day and continue till 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00 noon, starting at the southwest corner of Center Memorial Park, intersection of Myrtle and Linden Streets. Led by Susan Barlow, Town Historian, this two-mile walking tour through historic districts, will emphasize the work of artists and architects, noting their contributions to the culture and economy of Manchester. This will be a somewhat hilly moderately paced walk mostly on sidewalks. Rain or shine; extreme weather cancels. Park at Town Hall, 41 Center Street, or along side streets. This walk celebrates Manchester’s recent designation (by the State of Connecticut) as an arts and cultural district. More: manchesterhistory.org. There’s also a Butterfly Stroll from 10:00 to 2:00 sponsored by the Downtown district.
