Beth Sholom B’nai Israel (BSBI) of Manchester is proud to present the 7th Annual Manchester CT Jazz Festival on Saturday evening, December 3rd, 7pm at Cheney Hall. This year, In addition to many American jazz Performers, we will also feature musicians that have come from South America and Europe.

Our festival opens with The Brian Charette Group. Connecticut native Brian Charette was rated in the top 3 of the jazz organ category in this year’s DownBeat Critics poll and has played and recorded with the likes of Chaka Khan, George Coleman and many others. He will be joined by Sachal Vasandani, known for his singular voice with a tone and unique phrasing that mark him as one of the most compelling jazz artists on the scene today. Also joining him will be the fantastic, internationally recognized altosaxophonist Dmitry Baevsky, who is currently based in Paris, France and Julliard School grad Jordan Young, on drums who is very active in New York City and beyond.

Next up will be one of the world’s most notable jazz saxophonists Eric Alexander, who will be leading an international quartet which includes Rale Micic, guitar (originally from Serbia), Jason Clotter, bass (a Honduras native) and Greater Hartford area Jonathan Barber on drums. All of these artists have performed throughout the world to critical public acclaim with the likes of Pat Metheny, Nicholas Payton, Wynton Marsalis and Terence Blanchard to name a few.

The festival will conclude with Rob Gottfried (AKA Rob the Drummer) and Friends. Rob has played at the Village Gate, Carnegie Hall, the Newport Jazz Festival and frequently has collaborated with guitarist Jeff Pevar and organist Larry Young amongst others. He brings together an all- star Connecticut band including dynamic vocalist Linda Ransom, keyboardist Jeff Bousfield, guitarists Tony Dioguardi and Brandt Taylor and bassist Dave Stoltz.
