In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. The CT Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) will accept applications from September 1, 2023 through May 31, 2024. This program assists Connecticut homeowners and renters with heating bills in the form of a credit on electric and gas accounts or direct payments to oil and propane vendors. Households earning up to 60% of the State Median Income are eligible to apply ($41,553 for an individual and $79,910 for a household of 4). There is no asset limit.
Last year, 2315 Manchester households received more than $1.5M in energy assistance through this program. Manchester residents can apply online (preferred method) at ct.gov/heatinghelp or can request an in-person appointment in Manchester by calling 860-560-5800.
Oil and propane customers will want to apply as early as possible to ensure assistance with their first fill-up of the season.
