Fire Flow Testing
All fire flow testing conducted on the Town of Manchester municipal water supply system shall be performed by the Manchester Fire Marshal’s Office. Third-party contractors, engineers, fire protection companies, or other outside entities are no longer permitted to conduct independent fire flow testing on the municipal water system.
The fee for a fire flow test is $175.00.
All requests for fire flow testing shall be submitted through the Town of Manchester electronic permitting system. In the permitting system, type “Fire Flow” into the search bar and select the Fire Flow Testing application.
Once the application has been submitted and the required fee has been paid, please allow a minimum of two (2) weeks for scheduling.
Fire flow testing is weather and system dependent. Testing will not be conducted during periods of:
- Extreme drought or water-use restrictions
- Freezing temperatures
- Other conditions that may adversely affect the municipal water system or the safe performance of the test
Test scheduling may be postponed or rescheduled when these conditions exist.
