The Manchester Police Department is issuing an Snow Emergency Parking Ban in advance of a significant winter storm forecasted for this weekend and into early next week.The parking ban will take effect at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, and will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24.
Trash and recycling curbside collection will not occur on Monday, 2/23. The normal collection schedule will be pushed back 1 day all week. Residents should keep their trash and recycling bins away from the streets and sidewalks until after snow cleanup has been completed.

Exploring Archaeology – Pitkin Glass Works Inc. will sponsor Exploring Archaeology on Saturday September 17, 2022 at the Pitkin Glass Works site on the corner of Parker and Putnam Streets in Manchester, CT. Scott Brady, an avocational archaeologist with the Friends of the State Archeologist (FOSA) will discuss archaeology (process, goals, etc) and the history of the Pitkin Glass Works. Attendees will then be given the opportunity to have some supervised “hands on” archeological experience on the site.
There will be two 2 hour sessions, 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm with a maximum of 15 individuals aged 13 and above per session. The fee is $25 per person, registration is required.
