2026 Cleaning of Water Mains

The Water Department will be flushing water mains in areas of the distribution system. Please see the attached list of streets for this week of flushing.

Fire flow tests and hydraulic capacity tests of the system will also be done during this week in an effort to decrease the disturbances to our customers.

Water Main Shutoff 4/1

Manchester Water & Sewer Department is currently working on a water main on Jarvis Rd, between Salem and Whitney, due to a water service line being hit. There will be 22 homes affected by the shutdown; no fire hydrants will be off. Repair time is approximately 2 hours.

CEAP & LIHWAP Now Accepting Applications

Applications for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) 2022-2023 Program Year are being accepted. Eligible households can qualify for up to $1,000 in water assistance if they have disconnected service or are behind on bills. Payment includes all fees and charges if at imminent risk of household water or wastewater service disconnect.

You do not need to contact the Manchester Water & Sewer Department, once you are approved for the program. They will automatically apply the approved LIHWAP payment to your water account once the payment is received.
