Excessive high temperatures are predicted Tuesday, 7/15 through Friday, 7/18, this week. In addition to 90+ degree temperatures, very humid conditions may push the heat index up to at least 100 degrees each day. Residents are advised to please take proper precautions. If you are at risk from the heat, call 860-645-5500 for assistance.
Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 1, 2025 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2025. The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2024 Grand List on June 20, 2025.

The Town of Manchester is now accepting applications for Government Academy Fall 2024 session. The program provides the public with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the inner workings of local government.
The program will consist of a series of interactive sessions, and participants will get an inside look at the municipal operations covering everything from public safety to the public library.
Participants will experience a lively blend of demonstrations, presentations, and tours, all conducted in a casual format at numerous sites throughout the Town and can expect to come away with a heightened awareness and knowledge of local government operations as well as a greater understanding of how to get involved in local affairs.
The nine-week program will begin on Thursday, September 5, 2024, and will conclude on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The sessions are free and held mostly on Thursday evenings with a couple exceptions; anyone living or working in Manchester are welcome to apply. Register Online
