The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing exit number revisions on I-384 from Manchester to Bolton. This project is scheduled to occur starting on September 22, 2024, and be completed October 6, 2025.
The project 0170-5026 consists of the replacement of large, extruded aluminum signs and sign supports along the freeway section on Route 6 and along the entirety of I-384. To be in conformance with Federal standards, exit numbers on I-384 are required to be revised from the existing sequential numbering to mileage-based numbering. Motorists can expect to see both old and new exit numbers displayed while work progresses. Variable message signs will be advising motorists in the area two weeks prior to implementing the exit renumbering. There will be temporary lane and shoulder closures on Interstate 384 Eastbound and Westbound progressing through the project. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zones. Work for the project is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday through Saturday. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
