General Project Information

The Town of Manchester Department of Public Works, Engineering Division proposes to install approximately x2,800 feet of bituminous concrete (asphalt) sidewalk on 1) the south side of Hartford Road between its intersection at Bidwell Street and the existing end of the Charter Oak Greenway (vicinity of House Drive) and 2) the west side of Bidwell Street between its intersection at Hartford Road and the driveway to Manchester Community College.

The project will connect to the portion of multi-use path installed as part of the previously completed Hartford Road Bridge Replacement Project. The Hartford Road bridge was widened in anticipation of a future extension of the Greenway and is no longer an impediment to the multi-use path construction.

Other work includes ADA compliant sidewalk ramps, erosion & sedimentation control, maintenance and protection of traffic, restoration of lawns and driveways, and other appurtenant work.

This project development is ongoing and additional information will be provided on this web page when it becomes available.
