The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2025 Grand List on June 22, 2026. The first installment of taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2025 are due and payable on July 1, 2026. Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 3, 2026 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2026.
The Extreme Hot Weather Protocol will be activated at 12:00PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and continues through 6:00PM on Sunday, July 5, 2026. If you are at risk from the heat, call 860-645-5500 for assistance. Individuals who are unhoused and in need of assistance should contact 2-1-1 or MACC Charities. MACC Charities will be handing out water to those in need.
To allow our staff to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Fourth of July, the Manchester Transfer Station and Landfill will be closed on Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4.Curbside Collection: All residential routes will run with no change to regularly scheduled service days.
Tax Relief for Veterans / Active Duty Military EXEMPTIONS FOR VETERANS
To receive a veteran’s exemption on the assessed value of your real or personal property, you must file in the Town Clerk’s office your original DD-214 certificate. The Town Clerk is also allowed to accept certified copies from the VA, or certified copies from another town where the DD-214 has previously been filed. There is no fee for filing.
Duplicate copies of DD-214's may be obtained by contacting the National Archives and Records Administration 1-866-272-6272. Or you can visit their website at http://www.archives.gov/index.html.
