Family Place

The Family Place program at Manchester Public Library incorporates school readiness concepts, nutrition, development, music and movement, behavior and literacy.

The Parent / Child Workshop
An informal program for children, ages birth to 36 months, with a parent featuring developmentally appropriate toys, books and art activties for children as well as professionals from community agencies.

Dino Time @ Whiton

For children ages 2-5; dinosaur themed story time followed by free play. No registration required.

ABC Storytime

For all ages; story time is represented by a different letter of the alphabet each week , includes craft.

Preschool Picassos

For children ages 2-5, includes a story and process art activity. Dress for a mess!

Take Great Photos With Your Smartphone (REGISTRATION STARTS 10/1)

Everything necessary for taking great smartphone pictures will be addressed, including:
• Basic photography theory
• Using both your default smartphone camera app AND other camera apps available from the Android or iPhone app store
• Identifying and setting the camera controls
• Suggestions for hand-holding your camera
• Specific steps to follow when taking a picture

History of Connecticut Food

What is Connecticut food? Which crops, livestock and seafood have shaped the complex cuisines that its people have cherished for more than four centuries? This exciting event will please every food lover who appreciates the story behind a meal and every budding chef who longs for the secrets of favorite local dishes.
