In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. Calling all Veterans and their families and all friends of Veterans! On Sunday, November 6, 2022, Support Our Soldiers-Connecticut and VFW Post 2083 will be sponsoring a “Thank a Veteran” Thanksgiving Dinner after we finish packing all the boxes at our Thanksgiving collection and packing event. Dinner will start around 2:00pm. We will provide the main courses and request those who can to bring a salad or dessert to share.
This year we are saluting the “65th Infantry’s Puerto Rican ‘Borinqueneers’ of the Korean war”. Our dinner will feature many Puerto Rican specialties. We hope to have a display about the brave men of the Borinqueneers.
The dinner is free and is open to all, Veterans, families, and anyone who wants to say “Thanks” to the Veterans in attendance. Kitchen help with set up, serving and clean-up is needed. If too many people show up ‘to go’ boxes will be handed out to any over flow.
