Bidwell street will be closed from Hartford Road to Ramey drive starting 9/22/2026, for 30 days to allow for sewer main installation. Detour signs have been installed to help residents navigate around closure area.Salters Pool Parking Lot will be closed starting 9/21/2026, for 6-8 weeks to allow reconstruction of the parking lot. Pond access will be maintained during construction.

In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. The Trust will host a CT Trails Day walk on Sunday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. at Salter’s Pond, 123 Lydall Street. This moderately placed one-mile loop walk is great for families as well as singles. The terrain is somewhat bumpy and sometimes wet, with a set of stairs and some small hills. The pond was formerly a mill pond for Salter and Strong paper mill. It was a Town swimming area from 1946 to 1961 when the current paved pool was built. The Trust acquired the 13-acre property in the 1980 and 1981 from Lydall, Inc. and Green Manor Corporation. Rain or shine, but extreme weather cancels.
