Excessive high temperatures are predicted Tuesday, 7/15 through Friday, 7/18, this week. In addition to 90+ degree temperatures, very humid conditions may push the heat index up to at least 100 degrees each day. Residents are advised to please take proper precautions. If you are at risk from the heat, call 860-645-5500 for assistance.
Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 1, 2025 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2025. The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2024 Grand List on June 20, 2025.

A meeting for both amateur and more experienced genealogists. In May, we welcomed genealogist Noreen Cullen, who presented information about online websites, both free and paid, that can be used for genealogy research. Free for Society members, $3 for non-members.
Our Genealogy Library is open Wednesday through Friday, 10:00 to 2:00, and Saturday, 12:00 noon to 4:00 -- the same hours that the History Center is open.
