Over the next 2 weeks, crews will be doing a leaf collection test run in select areas to test equipment functionality. This is not the official leaf pickup. Free Rail Trail Hike on Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 p.m. -- an easy 3-mile walk along the former railroad, hiking along the one-mile portion owned by the Manchester Land Conservation Trust and then to Center Springs Park and the footbridge overlooking Broad Street. About 90 minutes round trip, with commentary on the history of the railroad. Meet at tracks on north (right) side of 2 Main Street. Park at nearby shopping plaza or Eighth Utilities District office (please do not park in Farr's store’s parking lot).
