The Manchester Police Department is issuing an Snow Emergency Parking Ban in advance of a significant winter storm forecasted for this weekend and into early next week.The parking ban will take effect at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, and will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24.
Trash and recycling curbside collection will not occur on Monday, 2/23. The normal collection schedule will be pushed back 1 day all week. Residents should keep their trash and recycling bins away from the streets and sidewalks until after snow cleanup has been completed.
Volunteers are needed for an Earth Day clean-up party on Saturday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., starting at 39 Lodge Drive, Manchester. We’ll pick up litter at the Cheney rail trail and Center Springs Park. This event is hosted by the Manchester Land Conservation Trust in partnership with the Town of Manchester. Supplies will be provided, including gloves, trash bags, and trash picking devices. Come when you can, you are not required to stay the whole time. Dress for the weather, as the event will be held rain or shine. Bring what you’ll need, such as a water bottle, sunscreen, sweatshirt. Pizza will be provided at the end of the event to volunteers.
