MACC Charities will be handing out water to those in need.
To allow our staff to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the Fourth of July, the Manchester Transfer Station and Landfill will be closed on Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4.Curbside Collection: All residential routes will run with no change to regularly scheduled service days.
The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2025 Grand List on June 22, 2026. The first installment of taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2025 are due and payable on July 1, 2026. Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 3, 2026 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2026.
The 89thManchesterRoadRace, one of America’s largest and most popular turkey trots, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27, 2025). The 4.737-mileraceis run on a loop course that starts and finishes on Main Street in Manchester, in front of St. James Church. Race officials are also reminding runners that registration will end completely at 11:59 p.m. (EST) on November 25th.No entries will be accepted on the day of the race.
On-line registration for the race is available 24 hours a day at www.manchesterroadrace.com. This year's event will literally be araceagainst hunger. MRR organizers have designated Connecticut Foodshare and MACC Charities---two organizations on the front line of the fight against food insecurity in the state---as the primary recipients of therace's net proceeds.
