Bidwell street will be closed from Hartford Road to Ramey drive starting 9/22/2026, for 30 days to allow for sewer main installation. Detour signs have been installed to help residents navigate around closure area.Salters Pool Parking Lot will be closed starting 9/21/2026, for 6-8 weeks to allow reconstruction of the parking lot. Pond access will be maintained during construction.
In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. Water Department personnel will be conducting visual inspections of water service line materials inside the home.
Our inspectors are trained to identify service pipe materials, will be wearing Town of Manchester identification, and driving a vehicle with the Town logo.
Visual inspection of the customer service line is a quick and efficient way to identify service line materials.
The inspection should only last about 5 minutes, is completely voluntary, and assists the Town with meeting our obligation under the EPA lead and copper rule.
