Town wide Parking Ban is in effect from 8 p.m Saturday 2/8 through 8 p.m Sunday 2/9. The Manchester Fire Department would like to remind residents with a fire hydrant in front of their home or business to clear a 3’ space around the fire hydrant and create a pathway to the street in accordance with Manchester Code of Ordinances § 279-19. If possible, wait until the road has been completely plowed to the curb before shoveling the last 5-10 feet of your driveway. This way less snow from the road will end up in your drive way. It takes 3-5 hours after a typical storm has ended for the Town to completely clear snow from the road to the curb. It is best to place snow on the far side of your driveway, away from the direction the plow is traveling. In most cases, this means placing the snow on the right side of your driveway as you face the road. This way the plow will carry the snow away from your driveway, rather than back into it.
