The Town of Manchester Town Clerk’s Office has announced a newly available PropertyCheck service, a free service for Manchester property owners to protect themselves against possible property fraud. Town Clerk, Dr. Cruz, explains that its office has seen an increase in calls from the town’s property owners with concerns about how they can find out if they are a victim of property fraud. Dr. Cruz explains that property fraud is when someone attempts to steal a property by filing a quit claim deed on the parcel without the knowledge of the property owner knowing or by forging someone’s identity.
The service is to help protect residents of Manchester from potential property fraud. PropertyCheck service is a free-of-charge subscription-based feature that enables residents to be automatically notified via text message or email of any recorded document that affects their property.
Residents can sign up for PropertyCheck alerts through a web-based application form in the Recordhub website. Please note, in order to receive PropertyCheck alerts, residents must register (for free) to be a Recordhub user.
