In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. Manchester, CT - Recently, the Town of Manchester through its Sustainability Commission, received a $30,000 grant supporting its energy efficiency outreach to homeowners, property owners, and renters.
The grant was made available by the Sponsors of Energize Connecticut℠, Eversource and Avangrid subsidiaries, United Illuminating, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Southern Connecticut Gas, as part of the Community Partnership Initiative’s (the Partnership) third round of funding.
“The hard work displayed by our Sustainability commissioners and town staff in securing this invaluable grant is truly commendable. This opportunity marks an important moment in Manchester’s commitment to energy efficiency as we continue to foster a more sustainable future for all,” says Mayor Jay Moran.
With this grant, the Town of Manchester is looking to educate and enroll homeowners, property owners and renters in: Home Energy Solutions – Income Eligible, the Multifamily Initiative, and Small Business Energy Advantage. Participating residents will work with an Eversource-approved contractor to identify appropriate weatherization and energy efficiency technologies and methods to increase their energy efficiency and maximize energy savings.
“As Co-Chair of the Sustainability Commission, I’m excited to see this grant support practical, energy-efficient initiatives that will benefit our community now and into the future,” adds Margaret “Peg” Hackett, Sustainability Commission Co-Chair.
To make energy efficiency affordable and accessible to all, the Partnership strives to provide local community groups, nonprofit organizations and municipalities with grants to promote energy efficiency adoption and educate residents and businesses on energy efficiency solutions available to them. Seventeen entities, including nonprofits, municipalities and chambers of commerce, were selected to participate in the third round of funding, bringing the total to 42 grants awarded.
