Bidwell street will be closed from Hartford Road to Ramey drive starting 9/22/2026, for 30 days to allow for sewer main installation. Detour signs have been installed to help residents navigate around closure area.Salters Pool Parking Lot will be closed starting 9/21/2026, for 6-8 weeks to allow reconstruction of the parking lot. Pond access will be maintained during construction.
In the coming weeks, a two-person Arcadis inspection team will conduct in-home service line inspections at select Manchester residences. Team members will carry identification badges and wear Arcadis-branded safety vests. If your property is selected for inspection, you will receive a door hanger notice in advance. On Monday, November 14th the Town of Manchester accepted their award for the Silver Certification from Sustainable CT for achieving a wide range of sustainability goals. The 2022 Silver Certification is honored to municipalities in the State whose sustainable actions total 400 or more points in categories ranging from dynamic and resilient planning, clean transportation, equitable and inclusive engagement, efficient energy infrastructure, and more.
“Manchester is committed to fostering an inclusive, resilient, and vibrant community that provides opportunities for all to thrive,” said Mayor Jay Moran. “The certification is evidence of Manchester’s continued dedication to sustainable practices across a broad range of impact areas.”
Manchester recognizes and celebrates the Manchester Board of Directors and the Town’s Sustainability Commission for their hard work and dedicated efforts.
“We are fortunate to live and work in a community that fosters a culture of sustainability and resiliency. Obtaining the Silver Certification is no easy feat and should be celebrated as a proud benchmark in demonstrating Manchester’s ongoing commitment to sustainability,” said Deputy Director of Public Works, Courtney Lindberg.
