The Manchester Fire Department reminds you on Sunday November 3rd to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and test them monthly.
Please replace your smoke alarms every 10 years and carbon monoxide alarms every 7 years. This year the NFPA data shows that the majority of the U.S. home fire deaths continue to occur in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. Our goal is to reinforce the critical importance of smoke alarms and what’s needed to install, test, and maintain them properly. “Fire is everyone’s fight!”
The Fire Marshal’s Office is offering to income eligible residents of Manchester, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms at no cost; visit the website for more information.
