The Water Department will be flushing water mains in areas of the distribution system. Please see the attached list of streets for this week of flushing.Fire flow tests and hydraulic capacity tests of the system will also be done during this week in an effort to decrease the disturbances to our customers.

Each notary public is appointed by the Secretary of the State for a term of five years, beginning on the date of appointment and ending of the last day of the anniversary month five years later. The appointment is evidenced by a Certificate of Appointment bearing the notary's name. Upon receiving the Certificate of Appointment, and before performing any notarial act, the notary must take an oath of office. The appointment and oath of office must be recorded within thirty (30) days of having received the Certificate of Appointment with town clerk in the town in which the notary resides. The filing fee for recording the notary's commission and oath is twenty dollars ($20.00).
Any person who is a resident of Connecticut or who has his/her principal place of business in Connecticut and is eighteen years of age or older, may apply to become a Notary Public in the State of Connecticut. The application for appointment as notary public must be completed online through the Secretary of State's webpage. For a new notary commission the fee is one hundred and twenty dollars ($120.00). The fee for a renewal is sixty dollars ($60.00). Register notary appointment first in town you live and second in the town you work in.

Notary Public Services
There is one Notary Public in the Town Clerks Office. Please call in advance to make sure they are available 860-647-3037
The Town Clerk’s Office offers notary services for most documents with the following exceptions: wills, power of attorney or documents to be filed on the Manchester land records.
Identification
Connecticut law requires that the signer of the document to be notarized provides the notary with at least 2 forms of identification (unless the notary personally knows the signer) containing the individual’s signature, at least 1 of which also contains the photograph of the signer, or a physical description. Examples of these documents would include a valid driver’s license and a credit card that has been signed. Social Security cards and birth certificates are not to be used as a form of identification.
Fee
There is a $5 fee for each document.
