Summer is almost here and with it we'll have a new Summer Reading program and soon, a new Main Library! Beginning on Monday June 22nd, 2026 come to either library building to fill out a registration form to receive a free children's summer reading t-shirt. When you register you may also pick up a reading slip to earn an additional prize. While supplies last.

TEEN SUMMER READING

Summer is just around the corner and we are kicking things off on Monday June 22nd, 2026! Whether you are a casual reader, a total bookworm, or just looking for a cool place to hang out, this summer is all about community, comfort, and great books. Here is what you need to know for this year:
*Free swap at signup: The moment you register at either library building, you'll score a free, exclusive Teen Summer T-shirt to kick off the season in style (while supplies last!).
*A Space of Your Own: While we won't be running a traditional prize giveaway this year, we have something even better. This summer marks the official opening of our brand-new dedicated Teen Space in the new library building! You finally have a room completely designed for you to hang out, study, or just chill with friends.
*Easy Access to Books: No need to stress about finding your next read. We will be providing copies of the summer reading books and Nutmeg Award nominees available to borrow right away.
ADULT SUMMER READING
2026
Adult Summer Reading starts on June 22nd, 2026. Due to our uncertain schedule this summer, our Adult Summer Reading is very simple this year. Starting Monday June 22nd, stop by either library building and ask for your 2026 summer reading t-shirt. There is no registration required this year, and there are no prizes- t-shirts are limited, while supplies last! T-shirts have typically gone within two or three days, so we recommend not delaying (especially if you are one of our t-shirt collectors!). We encourage you to stop in, check out as many books as you can carry out of the building, and read, read, read this summer, helping us get ready for our big move.
