Have you or someone you love been putting off scheduling a mammogram? If you have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months Take the Time to visit the convenient Hartford HealthCare Mobile Mammography van on Thursday, November 30, 2023. A mammogram is now recommended for women once between the ages of 35 to 39. From age 40 and above, this important early detection test should be done on a yearly basis. The mammograms provided on the van are considered a ‘screening’ mammogram. If you are having breast symptoms, had a recent abnormal examination, or a prior breast procedure, the Health Department will provide you with some additional details about scheduling your mammogram-some people need to get their mammogram at a facility that offers ‘diagnostic’ mammogram or a location that has a radiologist on-site.
The mobile mammography van will be parked at the Community Y, 78 North Main Street. Appointments are required and can be set up by calling Manchester Health Department (860-647-3173). Insurance is billed directly by Hartford HealthCare. Those without insurance can obtain a no-cost mammogram due to support by Hartford HealthCare program donors.
