The Water Department will be flushing water mains in areas of the distribution system. Please see the attached list of streets for this week of flushing.Fire flow tests and hydraulic capacity tests of the system will also be done during this week in an effort to decrease the disturbances to our customers.
Commemorate our move to the new building by saying goodbye to our current building with a photography contest! Photography enthusiasts of all skill levels are encouraged to take pictures of the Manchester Public Library main building in any variety - from topics on the inside of the building to topics on the outside of the building.
Contest runs from 4/15 - 5/6 and is open to adults ages 18 and up. Photographs must be submitted to atiu@manchesterct.gov as PNG or JPEG, labeled as lastname_firstname_libraryphoto2026. Entries that do not adhere to these rules will not be considered.
By submitting photographs, you acknowledge that they will be used for social media purposes with the correct attributions. You also agree that your photography is original and that you are the bearer and copyright owner of the original image. Heavily manipulated pictures, or those generate by AI will not be accepted. Photographs that are not about the library will also not be accepted.
Teen program participants will be final judges and the winner will be announced on Facebook. The winner will be a recipient of the $50 BJs Brewhouse gift card.
