The Manchester and Vernon Lions Club are proud to present the 25th Annual Fenix Bowling Tournament at Spare Time Vernon on Saturday, April 1st, 2023. This exciting event offers two sessions to choose from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM - 6:45 PM. The cost of $30 per bowler includes three games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza, and a soft drink. Bowlers will also be automatically entered to win door prizes. In addition to the bowling tournament, there will be a 50/50 raffle with half of the money going to the winner and half to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. There will also be silent auctions and raffle prizes with all tickets costing only $2 each. All proceeds and donations from the tournament will go to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides guide dogs to the visually impaired, at no cost to them. The cost to raise and train one guide dog is estimated to be over $65,000. John and Pat Garoppolo, Manchester Lions members, started the Fenix Memorial Bowling Tournament 24 years ago because John’s beloved guide dog, Fenix, was a Fidelco dog and they wanted to give back to the organization that gave them a life-changing guide dog. "We are thrilled to host this event for the 25th time," said Marisa Hicking, a member of the Manchester Lions Club. "It's a great way to bring the community together for some fun and friendly competition while also supporting a fantastic cause."
