Salters Pool Parking Lot will be closed starting 9/21/2026, for 6-8 weeks to allow reconstruction of the parking lot. Pond access will be maintained during construction.
Our leaf collection program will begin Monday, November 9, 2026, starting in the Middle Turnpike and Main Street area and continuing outward across town.
The Manchester Water and Sewer Department will begin investigative test pits in the coming weeks throughout the Town of Manchester. If your property is selected, you will receive a notice at your door before the inspection. The test pits will identify water service line materials on both the Town and customer sides of the curb box. Please call 860-647-6050 with any questions or concerns.

Saturday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m., two-option history hike at Highland Park. Meet at the Land Trust boulder at the small parking lot on Spring Street near the bridge and waterfall, not far from the intersection of Spring Street and Glen Road, Manchester (GPS 670 Spring St.). The Land Trust owns several properties in the Case Mountain area, including this half-acre parcel. We'll start with commentary on the Case Brothers National Historic District and then visit the paper mill and mansion areas. Those who want a short history walk may end their walk at the dam at Case Pond near Spring Street. For those who want a more strenuous event, we will continue uphill to the summit of Lookout Mountain. Steep, bumpy, and rocky terrain, but worth the effort, especially on a clear day, when the Heublein Tower is visible to the west. Free. Please wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots, and bring water. No dogs, please. Extreme weather cancels. Please check the street signs carefully before parking to avoid parking tickets.
