The Extreme Hot Weather Protocol will be activated at 11AM on Tuesday, July 14, and remain in effect through 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, this week. During this period, temperatures are expected to reach into the mid-to-high 90s, with the heat index surpassing 100 degrees at times.

The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2025 Grand List on June 22, 2026. The first installment of taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2025 are due and payable on July 1, 2026. Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 3, 2026 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2026.
Free Walking Tour: Downtown Churches
Saturday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m., visit some Downtown churches with Manchester’s Town Historian, Susan Barlow. Meet at the parking lot at the corner of Main and Park Streets, near St. James Church, which is located at 896 Main Street. The walk will take about 1-1/2 hours, visiting the exterior of St. James, and visiting inside at Emanuel Lutheran and South Methodist. Info about local history: www.manchesterhistory.org. Rain or shine, but extreme weather cancels. This is one of the 23 walks in 2023 celebrating Manchester’s 200th birthday. The next walks are also at 1:00 p.m.: Sunday, July 9, starting at the Senior Center, 549 Middle Turnpike East; and Sunday, August 6, Buckland Cemetery, 1210 Tolland Turnpike.
