Excessive high temperatures are predicted Tuesday, 7/15 through Friday, 7/18, this week. In addition to 90+ degree temperatures, very humid conditions may push the heat index up to at least 100 degrees each day. Residents are advised to please take proper precautions. Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 1, 2025 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2025. The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2024 Grand List on June 20, 2025.

For our Wednesday, July 12, 10:00 a.m. Genealogy Group meeting, we are visiting the Connecticut Genealogy Society Office and Library. The office opens to the public at 11:00 a.m., but manager Stephanie Hyland invites us there earlier, so meet us there at 10:00 a.m. Stephanie will tell us about their organization and explain how to use the collection. They are open most weekdays from 11:00 to 3:00 and have a large collection of books and references that can help in your searches.The office is located at 175 Maple Street, East Hartford.
