The Extreme Hot Weather Protocol will be activated at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 28, and remain in effect through at least 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, this week. During this period, temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s and will be accompanied by humid conditions, pushing the heat index near or above 100 degrees. If you are at risk from the heat, call 860-645-5500 for assistance.
Failure to pay any tax that is due by August 1, 2025 will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2025. The Town of Manchester mailed the tax bills for the October 1, 2024 Grand List on June 20, 2025. Please note: The Tax Office will close at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025.
UR Community Cares invites you to their upcoming Graffiti Battle April 23rd. It’s a competition between 10 local graffiti artists from RisesUp, such as Corey Pane, to create unique community murals with a live audience watching. They will have judges, such as Tamara Womack-Speaks and Joel Cox, to determine the winner and then the murals will be auctioned off at the end. The host will be Lorin Richardson from WFSB.

This fundraiser will be held on Sunday, outside on 47 Purnell Place in Manchester (the road will be closed) on April 23rd, and the timing is 1-4pm. The artists will line up along the street to paint on the same theme in front of the spectators, then the pieces will be auctioned off.
