The Manchester Police Department is issuing an Snow Emergency Parking Ban in advance of a significant winter storm forecasted for this weekend and into early next week.The parking ban will take effect at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, and will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24.
Trash and recycling curbside collection will not occur on Monday, 2/23. The normal collection schedule will be pushed back 1 day all week. Residents should keep their trash and recycling bins away from the streets and sidewalks until after snow cleanup has been completed.

Cheney railroad walks • Saturday, July 27, starting at the front steps of Fuss & O’Neill, 146 Hartford Road, and • Sunday, August 18, starting at the southeast corner of the shopping center at 220 North Main Street – both at 1:00 p.m. Moderately paced approximately three mile round trip walks include historic commentary about the railroad, built in 1869 to connect the Cheney silk mills to the main rail line in the North End. Rain or shine; extreme weather cancels. • Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m., meet at 395 Porter Street, for a ramble in the Highland Park School area, a unique neighborhood with historic and modern houses, a Nature Center, and the home of Hart Porter (1812-1891). Led by the Town Historian.
