AITP is an outdoor festival featuring art and craft of all genres for sale by over 250 local artisans, live entertainment and food trucks. To be an artist, vendor or performer, contact Cynthia Bulaong at artintheparkmanchester@gmail.com
Now in its 51st year, the ‘Art in the Park’ (AITP) is one of the longest running traditions in Manchester, CT! The outdoor festival takes place in the picturesque Center Memorial Park surrounding Mary Cheney Library at Main and Center Streets. Visitors stroll the show, free to the public, on Sunday, June 14th from 10am to 4pm, rain or shine, to see over 200 artists, artisan crafters and vendors from across the state, enjoy live music, food trucks and participate in interactive fun for kids, young people, individuals, and families.
With so many talented participants, there is “something for everyone” from emerging and first-time AITP artists to the established who participate annually offering original artwork and crafts of all styles and genres. Everything from painting to ceramic and 3D sculpture, to photography, jewelry, digital art, accessories, clothing, locally written books and more will be for sale. The stage will host all-day music, vocalists and bands and extensive food vendors and trucks will be onsite. Make-It-Take-It, Murals and Live Activities are plentiful.
Falling on Flag Day, participants have been invited to create artwork in any media on the theme to be judged with prizes awarded in a variety of categories. We expect to see stars & stripes, interpretations of the iconic image, patriotic themes and commentary of the spirit of the nation and where we might be in the future.
AITP is generously supported by the Town of Manchester, ‘Celebrate Manchester’, Jerry’s Artarama, The Richard P. Garmany Fund, Positive Battery and numerous in-kind donors. Proceeds benefit Artists in Real Time, Inc., a non-profit organization providing opportunities for local artists and producer of the event.
