MANCHESTER - CHENEY ORAL HISTORY PROJECT
Residents Speak of Growing Up in Manchester During the Early 20th Century

The library has recently acquired a series of transcriptions of oral histories in which more than sixty-five Manchester residents talk of their experiences growing up in town during the early 20th century. Interviews were conducted under the direction of John D. Sutherland of Manchester Community College and concern such topics as education, family life, recreation, the Great Depression, World War I and World War II. This oral history project was sponsored by: The Cheney Family Foundation, The Manchester Historical Society, The Cheney Cemetery Association and Lydall, Inc.
